ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (August 18, 2025) — Albuquerque ER & Hospital has received two recognitions highlighting its efforts in both patient care and workplace culture. The hospital has been named a finalist for “Best Emergency Room/Urgent Care” in the 2025 Albuquerque Journal Readers’ Choice Awards and named a “Best Place to Work” by Albuquerque Business First, marking the fourth consecutive year it has received the workplace honor.
Now in its 20th year, the Readers’ Choice Awards recognizes individuals and organizations every year for their service and contributions to the Albuquerque community. More than 45,000 votes were cast in 2025. The annual Best Places to Work awards highlight New Mexico employers based on anonymous employee feedback. Out of hundreds of participating businesses, 37 were selected this year.
“These awards are especially meaningful because they reflect the voices of both our community and our team,” said Sanjay Kholwadwala, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Albuquerque ER & Hospital. “They highlight the everyday experiences of our patients and staff.”
