I didn’t even wait five minutes in the waiting room and all of the staff was exceptional. I highly recommend them. If the billing doesn't fit your pocketbook, they give you options, whether getting treated there or elsewhere. I felt like my son mattered and not just a dollar sign or another random person. It was hard to remember where I was, as I had my own private room and nurses attending me whenever needed. I went to the ER late on a Saturday morning. The receptionist with short hair (sorry i can’t remember her name!) was efficient and respectful. Ted was my ER admittance nurse; great with dry sense of humor. Dr. Senjay saw me within an hour, listened to me describe my symptoms and answered any questions I had. He recommended a thorough work up and made sure I was in agreement before proceeding. Everyone here who saw me was very courteous and professional, including the radiologist (Alex?) and the ultrasound guy (contracted off site but was there within the hour). Upon getting my diagnosis about two hours later following a CT scan, ultrasound, and bloodwork, Dr. Sanjay gave me his assessment and talked through my treatment, again answering any questions and addressing any concerns. Once I was admitted to the hospital (I literally walked around to the other side of the nurse’s station), I was transferred to the NP Kelli and her amazing team: Tony, the sweet soft spoken tech who ensured I had a restful night (and my partner! She got a whole futon made up for her in the same room and slept great!); Suzanne who helped manage my pain; and Armando the next day who explained patiently all the next steps so I could be safely discharged without rush or hassle. Everyone here is knowledgeable and appears glad to be here. I could not ask for a better healthcare experience. Even when there was some issue with getting a prescription filled the next day, they were in communication with me until I got it resolved. Two caveats: Food: I had to advocate for food (there is no cafeteria on site), so they use DoorDash; which is great, but my partner had to look it up on her own app, find the order, then give it to the nurse to order from their own account. This worked great the first time, but then it became a bit difficult to get the order in the next day and I didn’t eat anything until 12:30pm. Cost: I have no idea how much this will cost, but they took my insurance (BCBS out of Hawaii) and now I’ll be awaiting the bill(s). But to know exactly what was going on with me and how to treat it, I am forever grateful. One suggestion: in the gifted toiletries bag (yes how luxurious is that?!), a pair of earplugs and eye mask would have been great! Everyone was kind, patient and had a sense of urgency. Doctor has great bedside manners, listened, clear communication, empathy. The girl at the reception desk is beautiful and very helpful on the phone and in person. The nurse was nice and listened and the doctor was very thorough and helpful. Quick check in and triage. I came in at shift change but the first nurse did fine. Oncoming shift nurse was excellent, thorough, thoughtful concerning possible problems. NP practitioner couldn’t be better. Quick, got to the heart of the matter, had a couple very good treatment options, got it done. Truly a fine team.
